Myrias Optics Named “Best Prototype Honoree” at Display Week 2026 I-Zone

May 13, 2026

Myrias Optics was recognized as a "Best Prototype Honoree" at Display Week 2026 in Los Angeles for its advanced AR waveguide materials and manufacturing platform demonstrated in the prestigious I-Zone (Innovation Zone), the showcase for breakthrough display and AR/VR technologies.

The Myrias demonstration highlighted the company's proprietary all-inorganic additive nanoimprint lithography (NIL) platform for next-generation AR waveguides. The technology combines high-performance inorganic optical materials with scalable wafer-level manufacturing to enable lighter, smaller, and more manufacturable AR glasses.

Recent industry publications and technical discussions have increasingly emphasized the importance of higher refractive index materials, thermal stability, low haze, and manufacturable replication processes for achieving wider field of view, improved efficiency, and consumer-scale production in AR waveguides.

Myrias addresses these challenges through production ready proprietary nanoimprint materials and processes with tunable refractive index from 1.9 to 2.3, ultra-high transparency, and compatibility with existing imprint manufacturing tools — eliminating the need for costly new capital equipment. Myrias also demonstrated waveguides imprinted with RI 2.5 materials on SiC substrates and is targeting readiness for customer trials later this year.

Myrias' additive manufacturing platform is designed to deliver the optical performance and durability associated with etched waveguides while providing the scalability and cost structure advantages of nanoimprint manufacturing. The company's approach enables "one etched master" to replicate millions of optical devices while delivering the robustness and reliability of all-inorganic optics. Compared with conventional etched or polymer-based approaches, Myrias technology offers faster imprinting speeds, improved thermal performance, reduced optical haze, and a compelling path toward high-volume consumer AR manufacturing.
